Thank you for your interest in The Brandon Magalassi Memorial Scholarship.

The Brandon Magalassi Memorial Scholarship was created by Billy and Michele Magalassi in June 2004, after the death of their son, Brandon. He had just completed the 8th grade and had his 15th birthday, when his untimely death by suicide occurred. He was an honors student, a member of the National Junior Honor Society, an Owasso Ram football player and a beautiful young man both inside and out.

The scholarship foundation has two missions. The first is to honor Brandon’s memory by raising funds for scholarships to be awarded to graduating seniors in Owasso, Oklahoma. The second is to raise awareness about teen suicide.

Each scholarship applicant must write an essay on the topic teen suicide, it's effects, risk factors and methods of prevention and intervention. The purpose of this exercise is two-fold – for each of the students to learn more about teen suicide and to raise awareness within the community through the publication of these essays.

Your generous donation will help us in our efforts to provide these scholarships and raise awareness about the effects of teen suicide. There are no administrative costs as all committee members are volunteers so 100% of your donation will go toward scholarships.
